Paper & Ribbon Flowers

Paper & Ribbon Roses – something NEW at South for Winter!  We will officially launch this line after January 20th, 2013!  No water necessary – how great is that?  Each flower is handcrafted by Christina – each individual petal is carefully cut and assembled into flowers!

Flower “heads”, hair accessories, stemmed flowers, and bouquets for weddings/special occasions or just around the house – some of the ways we use these handcrafted beautiful, realistic looking flowers!

These will be on display at the Bridal Showcase in Danville, Illinois on January 19th – 10am – 1pm – At Turtle Run Golf Club & Banquet Center.  For more information, visit our website at http://www.southforwinter.net

The Holiday’s Are Coming!

Zippered Pouches, Bags, & Clutches

New to the South for Winter line – Zippered Pouches/Bags/Clutches!  We can make these in just about any fabric you can think of – including NFL or other sports teams!  They make great carry-all’s for travel, cosmetic bags, toy holders for kids, or stick them in your lunchbox with your mid-day snack!  

Pouches can be lined with vinyl to make them leak resistant – or lined with thermal material to make them capable of holding in heat or keeping stuff cold!

Custom Made Wallets & Checkbook Covers – By Brenda

Carry cards and cash easily with custom made wallets or get a custom checkbook cover made in a variety of fabrics, including NFL or other sports teams!

Quick Design DIY – Freshen Up A Doorway

This project will take you NO time at all and is inexpensive!  Dress up a doorway with any shower curtain you can get on the market!

What you need:

Metal (or wood) Dowel Rod

2-3 Screw Hooks (?)

1 Dollar Store (or any) shower curtain with button holes for shower curtain hooks

How to do it:

Measure your doorway and pick the appropriate size dowel rod for it.

Hold dowel rod over doorway and center – placing dowel approximately 3″ above the door frame.

Mark 2 inches in from either end – this is where you will place your screw hooks.

Screw hooks into wall with the loop facing up towards ceiling to cup the dowel rod.

Run the dowel rod through the shower curtain button holes (where you’d usually put hooks)

Hang curtain by placing the dowel rod in the hooks.   Voila!

You can get creative and make a tieback with ribbon, string, rope etc by putting nails or tacks in the wall to hold back, or purchase curtain tiebacks from Lowes, etc if you want to spend a few extra dollars.  Have fun with it!

We Are Mad About Chevrons!

Chevron fabric is Christina’s all time favorite – there’s just something about the crisp zig-zag lines that drives her wild!

We can make any of our purses, totes, etc using the chevron fabrics, and there are lots of colors to choose from!  There are some new Chevron’s that we will be offering in August – see list below!   If there is a specific color that you are looking for but do not see it here, let us know and we’ll do our best to find it!!
